Terms & Conditions of Service

The use of the words “we”, “us” and “the service provider” refers to Go Dogs and any associated employees. “You”, “the client”, “the customer” refers to you, the person requesting the services, the owner or person responsible for the dog and agreeing to these terms & conditions. “Services” refers to any paid for services that you request of Go Dogs, including daycare, home boarding and walking.

  1. Services

    1. We (Go Dogs) shall perform the Services in an attentive, reliable and caring manner, using all reasonable skill and care, having due regard to the Policies & Procedures and any relevant information set out in the Customer & Pet Information Form.

    1. We shall act in accordance with all reasonable instructions given to us by you (the Client) provided such instructions are compatible with the specification of Services provided in the Policies and Procedures.

    1. We shall be responsible for ensuring that we comply with all statutes, regulations, byelaws, standards, code of conduct and any other rules relevant to the provision of Services.

  1. Your Obligations

    1. You shall use all reasonable endeavours to provide all pertinent information to us necessary for our provision of the Services.

    1. You authorise Go Dogs to carry out the Services.

    1. You agree that the information provided to Go Dogs is true to the best of your information, knowledge and belief.

    1. You confirm that all vaccinations, treatments etc which you are obliged to have by law arising from the ownership of the dog have been obtained.

    1. You may issue reasonable instructions to us in relation to our provision of Services. Any such instructions should be compatible with the specification of Services provided in the Policies and Procedures.

    1. You will be responsible for all medical expenses and damages resulting from any injury to Go Dogs’ employees, associates or to other persons by the dog.

    1. You shall fully indemnify us in respect of costs and damages arising from any claim from any person suffering either injury or death caused by your pet.

    1. You authorise us to arrange for any emergency veterinary care that may be necessary during the provision of Service. We shall use all reasonable efforts to obtain your consent prior to obtaining emergency care.

    1. You agree to reimburse us for any additional fees and expenses for providing emergency care. You further agree to cover the cost of additional visits which may be necessary to ensure your dog’s safety or to monitor progress in recovering from sickness or injury.

    1. We shall use our best efforts to use your dog’s normal Veterinary Surgeon where ever possible. You authorise Go Dogs to appoint an alternative Veterinary Surgeon to examine your dog and carry out such treatment or surgery as may be appropriate if your normal Veterinary Surgeon is not available.

    1. Any delay in the provision of Services resulting from failure or delay in complying with any of the provisions in this Clause 3 shall not be the responsibility or fault of Go Dogs..

  1. Fees and Payment

    1. We will charge for Services as quoted prior to any services commencing and you agree to pay Go Dogs the Fees, promptly when they are due (as detailed in the invoice)

    1. You agree to reimburse us for any additional fees for providing emergency care, as well as any expenses incurred for, without limitation, unexpected visits, transportation, housing, food or supplies on proof of a valid receipt

    1. If you fail to make any payment on the due date, then we shall, without prejudice to any other rights or remedies, have the right to charge the interest on a daily basis at an annual rate of 8% on the sum due

    1. Should any payment due remain unpaid for 7 days after it falls due, we will be relieved of our obligations to provide the Services until such time as payment is made.

  1. Cancellations

    1. In the event that you wish to cancel any services, you will be charged the following:

      1. 100% of the fees due, if cancelled less than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled service (all services)

      2. The non-refundable deposit, if cancelled any time up to 48 hours ahead of the scheduled services (home boarding services).

    1. Without prejudice to clause 9.1, in the event we cancel or otherwise are not able to provide the Services we shall either:

      1. arrange alternative services or providers to a value and quality that would have been provided; or

      2. refund any monies paid for the Services; and

      3. in either case, provide 24 hours’ notice, or if 24 hours is not practical, for example in a sudden event or emergency, notice as soon as it is reasonably possible.

  1. Insurance

    1. We have in place at all times suitable and valid insurance that includes Public Liability Insurance relative to the services performed for our clients.

    1. It is the your own responsibility to ensure that your property, its contents and your pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of your use of our services.

  1. Indemnity and liability

    1. We shall not be liable for any loss or damage you may suffer resulting from failure to follow any instructions given by us.

    1. You accept full liability and responsibility for any event occurring or arising from the behaviour or characteristics of your dog.

    1. You will indemnify Go Dogs against any damage or injury caused by your dog towards any property, person or other animal, this will include, but is not limited to veterinary, medical and legal fees.

    1. We shall not be responsible for any damage caused to your property or possessions or that of others caused by your dog during the period the pet is in our care. You agree to indemnify Go Dogs against any such claims as may be made against us arising out of or in connection with this Clause.

    1. We accept no responsibility or liability for the security of your property or premises, or any loss or damage which may be sustained as the result of action taken by third parties who also have access to your property or premises either before, during or after our service to you.

    1. We shall not be liable for the injury, loss, death or any actions, fines or penalties as may be imposed on dogs permitted unsupervised access to the outdoors.

    1. We will care for your dog as you would, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure the safety of your dog and ensure that they are well looked after in your absence, we cannot be held liable for any loss, illness or injury of any dog whilst in our care, nor for any death of a dog unless we can be shown to be negligent

    1. You will be responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst your dog is in our care.

    1. Nothing in these terms shall limit or exclude our liability for death or personal injury.

  1. Aggressive or Unsocial Dogs

    1. Should any dog become aggressive or dangerous, we shall, by our sole discretion take whatever action we consider necessary in the best interest of the dog, other animals or people which may be encountered. This may, without limitation, include:

      1. a refusal to offer any further Services;

      2. obtaining assistance from a Vet, the R.S.P.CA or the police;

      3. placing the dog in a boarding kennel;

    1. Any fees and costs incurred in taking action pursuant to clause 9.1 shall be directly chargeable to and recoverable from the Client.

    1. We shall not be liable to you for any refund of Fees where you have not specified the behaviour and characteristics of your dog in the Customer & Dog Information Form.

  1. Force Majeure

    1. Neither party shall be liable in damages for any delay or default in performing its obligations caused by conditions beyond its control including but not limited to acts of God, war, strikes, fires, floods, governmental restrictions or power failures.

    1. The Party (the “Affected Party”) prevented from carrying out its obligations shall give notice to the other Party of an Event of Force Majeure upon it being foreseen by, or becoming known to, the Affected Party.

  1. Assignment

    1. Go Dogs shall be entitled to perform any of the obligations undertaken by us through any other member of our group or through suitably qualified and skilled sub-contractors. Any act or omission of such other member or sub-contractor shall, be deemed to be an act or omission of Go Dogs.

  1. Data Protection

    1. Go Dogs will not use or pass to a third party (other than information needed by a carer to perform their duties). All information relating to you, your property and dog(s) will be stored in accordance with the data Protection Act 1998.

Policies and Procedures

  1. Bookings

    1. For all new clients, an in-home consultation is required and a booking cannot be made until this has been carried out.

    2. Home Boarding: Bookings shall be confirmed once all of the necessary forms have been completed and (advance) payment made in accordance with the price quoted.

    3. Bookings may be accepted up to 24 hours before service begins but payment in full will be required for all bookings made less than 14 days before service begins.

    4. Daycare: Bookings are made for fixed regular days on a weekly on-going basis and can be invoiced monthly

    5. Walking: Bookings are made for fixed regular days on a weekly on-going basis and can be invoiced monthly

  1. Duty of Care

    1. A change in a pet’s routine and circumstances can cause varying degrees of distress and unpredictable or abnormal behaviour, particularly if their owner is on holiday, pets have no concept or ability to understand that their owner’s absence is temporary and they will be coming back. We understand this and will offer comfort and reassurance whilst trying, as far as is practically possible to maintain their normal daily routines.

    2. In the event of extreme weather which may have an adverse effect on your dog e.g. heat or thunder storms, we shall at our sole discretion take whatever action we consider necessary, including not carrying out scheduled exercise until it is, in our opinion, safe to do so.

  1. Essentials

    1. You shall provide sufficient food, and any treats for your dog(s) for the duration of the service you require.

    2. You shall provide secure collars with name/address tags and leads.

    3. You shall provide bedding if requied

    4. Your dog must have current vaccinations against;

      Canine Distemper,

      Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine adenovirus),

      Leptospirosis (L. canicola and L. icterohaemorrhagicae),

      Canine Parvovirus

      We also recommend Kennel Cough.

    5. All vaccinations must be completed at least four weeks before the first date of service or in accordance with manufacturer instructions. We require proof of all vaccinations.

  1. House Cleanliness

    1. We shall clean up after your dog to the best of our ability

    2. You shall make available cleaning materials in the event of any ‘mistakes’ within your property.

    3. You shall show us the location of appropriate cleaning materials, including but not limited to plastic bags, disposable gloves, towels, disinfectant, paper towels and bin bags.

    4. We cannot be held liable or responsible for any stains, marks or damages caused by the fouling or attempts to clean it.

    5. We may charge for cleaning where the time or number of occurrences exceeds what would be considered to be acceptable.

  1. Damage to Property or Possessions

    1. Any damage to your property or possessions in your absence, however caused by your dog shall be recorded and we will inform you at the earliest opportunity by whatever means is available.

  1. Medicines

    1. It is your responsibility to make us fully aware of any health issues your dog is experiencing, or has suffered in the past. We cannot be held liable for any actions or omissions which result in problems or complications for anything not disclosed.

    2. We shall follow instruction you give to us but cannot be held liable for any complications which may arise.

    3. In the event of a dog having a contagious illness or disease which has not been disclosed, you may be liable for the costs of treatment given to other animals which become infected.

  1. Sick or Injured Dogs

    1. If your dog is taken sick or injured we will notify you at the earliest convenience using whatever method is available to take instructions or guidance. In the event we are unable to contact you, or in an emergency situation, we shall (if in our opinion the dog needs veterinary attention/treatment/opinion), make arrangements as necessary, in the best interest of the dog. Any veterinary bills shall be directly chargeable to you.

  1. Keys

    1. Where it is necessary for us to hold keys to your property, you shall provide one of each key needed. Keys will be kept within a locked system for security.

    2. Keys will be returned upon completion of services providing all fees due have been paid (unless you wish for us to keep them).

  1. Privacy

    1. It is your sole responsibility to ensure the information provided to Go Dogs is current and up to date, you agree to accept any decision made by us in the event that we’re not able to contact the you as a result of wrong information held.

  1. Third Parties

    1. You shall advise us of anyone who will have access to your property during any periods of your absence, including but not limited to cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbours.

    2. We shall not be liable for other persons or their actions or omissions who will be in, or have access to your property before, during or after services have been rendered.

  1. Companions

    1. We may have a spouse, family member or friend accompany us whilst providing the scheduled services. No costs will be applied to your account for any assistance the companion provides.

    2. All companions will be subjected to whatever checks we consider necessary or appropriate.

  1. Fire and Emergency Precautions

    1. In the case of fire or other emergency, we will take the appropriate steps for the protection of the dogs in our care.

    2. We will be aware of the location of the dogs in our home at all times.
    3. A fire warning and emergency evacuation plan including details of where dogs are to be evacuated to in the event of a fire or other emergency is displayed in our home.
    4. We will make arrangements for the temporary boarding of dogs in the event that our home is rendered uninhabitable.
    5. We have at two working smoke detectors installed in appropriate locations along with a fire extinguisher and fire blanket.
  1. Miscellaneous

    1. Dogs may be walked off-lead in suitable public areas where it is deemed appropriate, following an initial introductory period for new dogs. If you do not consent to us allowing your dog off-lead at any times in a public area you must check the box on the Customer & Pet Information Form to request this. The policies and the terms will always prevail.

    2. For dogs that are boarding overnight with us, it is expected that they will sleep in a designated room downstairs in our house. We do not allow dogs to come upstairs.

    3. We will do everything we can to make your dog feel comfortable and secure in our home, but if your dog shows peristant signs of stress or anxiety, they may not be suitable for home boarding and as such, you will be asked to collect and make alternative arrangements for boarding.

    4. We will not tolerate behaviour such as excessive barking/crying, scratching at doors, chewing or soiling.

    5. Your dog will stay in our home together with our resident dog along with dogs from other households.

    6. We cannot accept entire males or bitches due to come into season for any of our services

    7. We cannot accept puppies under the age of 6 months for home boarding

    8. Photographs of dogs in our care maybe posted to social media sites such as Facebook. By using our services you accept and authorise this use.
